Girls 16s news: Tournament Results

The Girls 16s finished tied for fifth in the 16s National division of the USA Volleyball Girls Junior Olympic Tournament in Dallas. The Girls 16s lost in the quarterfinals to eventual runner-up Cincinnati Classics Red, 26-24, 16-25, 17-15. Koala Matusoka was named to the all-tournament team.

The Girls 16s entered their last Aloha Region tournament of the season. It was an 18s tournament at McKinley High School gym. The Girls 16s didn't lose a game to win the tournament. For tournament scores click here. It's now on to the Junior Olympics in Dallas, Texas, July 1-4, 2008.

The Girls 16s and the Girls 18s played each other in the championship match of the USA Volleyball Aloha Region Girls 18s Regionals held this past weekend. This was a two day tournament that included 19 teams. The Girls 18s won the match and the tournament beating the Girls 16s 25-14.

The Girls 16s won the Aloha Region bid to play in the 2008 USA Junior Olympic Girls' Volleyball Championships in Dallas, Texas July 1-4, 2008. For tournament scores click here.

The Girls 16s are entered in the USA Junior Olympic Girls' Volleyball Championships Qualifier this Sunday in Kekuhaupio Gym at Kamehameha Schools. Tourmament starts at 11 AM.

The Girls 16s are traveling to Anaheim, California for the 2008 Southern California Junior National Qualifier (April 11-13). They will be playing in the 16s Open division. For final results click here.

The Girls 16s placed 11th out of 32 teams in the 16s Open division at the 2008 Pacific Northwest Junior National Qualifier in Spokane, Washington.

The Girls 18s and Girls 16s returned from SCVA 22nd Annual Las Vegas Classic. The 18s finished 10th out of 122 teams in the 18s Open Division. The 16s finished 29th out of 89 teams in the 17s Open Division. Congratulations to all!

The Girls 16s held a successful car wash fundraisers on January 26 and February 23rd. The funds generated will help with their mainland travel expenses. more photos
